LRT Art 2017 Open to All Filipino Artist

With this year’s theme “Sasakyan mo sa Magandang Kinabukasan,”  the LRT Art 2017 is now open to all Filipino artists, be it old and young, seasoned or novice.

LRTArt 2017 aims to provide some comfort and relief to the displaced children of Marawi City through medical missions and feeding programs as their beneficiary project this year.

The project is partnered with The Kapisanan ng mga Pintor sa Pilipinas atbp. Sining Inc., a non-profit and government registered organization. Founded in 1995 by Maestro Rogelio B. Orobia, an impressionist painter.  Its primary goal is to help artist groups of different fields to hone their skills in their chosen craft by providing workshops and events catered to artists. KPP Atbp Sining Inc. organize exhibitions in public spaces such as malls, activity centers, hotels, and the like to uplift awareness and appreciation of the arts.

THE COMPETITION:

MAIN

  • Competition is open to Filipino artists age 18 and above.
  • Artwork must be apolitical and respond to the theme “LRT-Sasakyan Ko Sa Magandang Kinabukasan”, should be uplifting and connotes positivity (dark and negative imagery is strongly discouraged).
  • Entry size requirement is 48in x 36in for portrait orientation or 36in x 48in for landscape orientation (excluding frame), and must be done in either oil or acrylic on canvas only.
  • Entries must be original and have been done within 2017, not been revised, exhibited nor entered in any art competitions
  • Entries must be submitted ready for hanging, using nylon cords (tansi) only.
  • Other rules, guidelines, eligibility requirements and official entry forms will be available for download at the LRTArt website.

PRIZES

Top 50 works: Fifty finalists will each receive five thousand pesos (Php 5,000) and a certificate.

Juror’s Choice Award: Three works selected from the 50 finalists will be awarded a special prize of twenty thousand pesos (Php 20,000) each and certificates.

3rd prize selected from the 50 finalists and will receive one-hundred thousand pesos (Php 100,000) and a trophy.

2nd prize selected from the 50 finalists and will receive two-hundred thousand pesos (Php 200,000) and a trophy.

1st prize will be selected from the 50 finalists and will receive three-hundred thousand pesos (Php 300,000) and a trophy.

 

 

JUNIOR DIVISION

  • Competition is open to Filipino artists age 11 to 17, a student within the Greater Metro Manila Area.
  • Artwork must be apolitical and respond to the theme “LRT-Sasakyan Ko Sa Magandang Kinabukasan”, should be uplifting and connotes positivity (dark and negative imagery is strongly discouraged).
  • Entry size requirement is 36” x 24” in portrait or landscape orientation excluding the frame, and must be done in either oil or acrylic on canvas only.
  • Entries must be original and have been done within 2017, not been revised, exhibited nor entered in any art competitions.
  • Entries must be submitted ready for hanging, using nylon cords (tansi) only.
  • Other rules, guidelines, eligibility requirements and official entry forms will be available for download at the LRTArt website.

Prizes

Top 25 works: Twenty-five finalists will each receive two thousand pesos (Php 2,000) and a certificate.

Juror’s Choice award: Three works selected from the 25 finalists will be awarded a special prize of ten thousand pesos (Php 10,000) each and certificates.

3rd prize selected from the 25 finalists will receive fifty thousand pesos (Php 50,000) and a trophy.

2nd prize selected from the 25 finalists will receive one hundred thousand pesos (Php 100,000) and a trophy.

1st prize selected from the 25 finalists will receive one hundred fifty thousand pesos (Php 150,000) and a trophy.
