Reflecting on their journey so far, the members of Mei Mei view their growth through unique, personal lenses. “For me, it’s like a puzzle, kasi as you can see magkakaiba talaga kami, pero as time goes by, talagang nako-complete namin ang isa’t isa and hopefully, makita ninyo na ang ‘bigger picture,’” Mei Mei Alexa shares. Describing their journey in one word, Mei Mei Jhamayka adds, “Ako, kung isang word lang, ang masasabi ko, soul. Kasi parang binibigay talaga namin ang buong buo namin and through that, napupunta siya sa kanta namin and we really hope na maramdaman ‘yan ng iba’t ibang souls din.” Mei Mei Ada sees their evolution as an ongoing storybook, explaining, “For me, ‘yung journey ng Mei Mei, para siyang book na parang starting from chapter 1, parang series na may episode 1. So far, sa sobrang daming stories namin na ishe-share, from Telebong to Alembong, tapos ngayon namamasko. So, more stories to come and it’s all about learning and growing, and making people happy.” Summing up the emotional impact of their music, Mei Mei Thea simply says, “For me naman, magical, kasi I believe Mei Mei change lives.”
At its heart, “Namamasko Po!” serves as a sincere tribute to caroling, one of the most cherished Filipino holiday traditions. Mei Mei Alexa emphasizes that the song was crafted to remind listeners of traditional Christmases past, noting, “We want to remind everyone kung paano ‘yung Pasko noon. With our song, we hope na maibalik po natin ‘yung pangangaroling.” Beyond sharing this musical gift with their fans, the release marks a significant personal milestone for the group. “Honestly, this is going to be the first Christmas na we will celebrate together, kasi last time, we were still training and getting to know each other,” Mei Mei Jessie shares. “So, we’re really looking forward to, first, build a stronger bond and connection, and I hope to actually meet their families.”
The single represents much more than just a seasonal release; it is a heartfelt gift intended to ignite joy across the nation. The members expressed immense happiness in creating the track, sharing, “Sobrang saya po! Iba ‘yung joy and happiness in our hearts.
