Xcellcoms Enterprises has officially opened the i-CHARJ Electric Vehicle Charging Hub at Km. 17 Drive and Dine NLEX in Barangay Canumay, Valenzuela City. Operating 24/7, the new facility marks a major step forward in expanding the region’s accessible, sustainable energy infrastructure.

The hub is the latest venture from I-CHARJ Corp Chairman Engineer Aquilino Tubigan Jr., a decorated innovator who pioneered the nationwide deployment of coin-operated phone charging systems. Tubigan, who holds the official invention patent for the coin-charging technology widely used in major convenience store chains, previously received a Gold Medal for Telecommunications at the 2008 International New Product Expo (INPEX) in Pennsylvania, USA. His past achievements earned recognition from Malacañang and the House of Representatives, alongside development funding from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

Transitioning from local mobile power stations to automotive infrastructure, i-charj Corp has evolved its baseline technology to meet modern digital demands. What began in 2006 as a single patented hardware invention has expanded into a multi-regional footprint spanning all 17 regions of the Philippines. For this new phase of electric mobility, the company has paired its physical stations with a dedicated i-charj mobile application, allowing EV drivers to seamlessly locate available docks, monitor real-time energy usage, and manage cashless payments directly from their smartphones.

The selection of the NLEX Drive and Dine location serves as a strategic cornerstone for the company’s green mobility layout. Positioned along one of Luzon’s busiest tollways, the 24/7 hub bridges a critical infrastructure gap for local EV commuters and long-distance travelers passing through Valenzuela City. By establishing a presence at a major commercial rest stop, the facility provides drivers with the convenience of powering their vehicles while accessing retail and dining amenities.

The new NLEX hub is now fully operational and open to the public.
