Kapuso hunk actor and athlete Ervic Vijandre happily turns his lifestyle into advocacy as he joins the “Be A Hero Fundraising Cycling Event” happening on October 21, 6AM at the ArcoVia in C-5 Pasig.
Though he hasn’t participated in a cycling event prior to this, he shares that he bikes almost everyday; going to the gym, to work or just getting a head start for the whole day.
The event organizers and sponsors are passionate on ending polio but they also want the participants to enjoy and do something productive.

What can you do in a 100 minutes? For only 100 minutes of your time, you can be one of the heroes that ill help eradicate polio worldwide and help treat rare diseases of children in the Philippines. Join the fundraising cycling event, “100 Years of Inspiring People” on October 21, 6AM at ArcoVia, C-5 Pasig.
Since Rotary took on the fight against polio in 1985, we are now close to eradicating it with only four countries battling this disease – Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nigeria and recently it emerged again in Papua New Guinea. Like polio in its early years, Rotary would also like to give attention to the rare diseases that go unnoticed in our country like Maple Urine Disease and Hunter’s Disease by supporting the Philippine Society for Orphan Disorders (PSOD).
Together with Rotary International District 3780, let us embark on a ride to raise funds for these causes. Let us also celebrate Rotary’s 100 years of transforming lives in the Philippines and World Polio day.
100 Years of Inspiring People is a brainchild of Rotary International District 3780 Governor Pastor “Mar” Reyes. “We need to honor the good deeds Rotary has done in the Philippines in the past century. We need to celebrate the gargantuan effort of Rotary to eradicate Polio worldwide, which started in the Philippines. we also need to recognize that despite the 99.9% eradication, there is that elusive and difficult .01% job to be finished. Through these celebrations, we inspire Rotarians, communities and partners-in-service to remain resolute and focused in continuing our service to humanity in the next century.”
100 Years of Inspiring People will be composed of three activities:
- 100km. 20 – 30 cyclists composed of celebrities, professional athletes and Rotarians will bike from The Village, Clark to ArcoVia in Pasig City. Confirmed celebrity is Kapuso artist Ervic Vijandre. Professional artists are composed of Philippine Team and Sea Games medalists.
- 100min. Cyclists, both Rotarians and non-Rotarians will ride for 100 minutes around ArcoVia City.
- Amazing Race. Trivias and physical challenges will be set up in 15 stations around ArcoVia City for non-cyclists including children.
Register now and be a hero on October 21. For only P850, you will get a cool dri-fit shirt, finisher medal and a loot bag.
