Communication mentor and nurse-turned-leader launches new book ‘Speak To Lead’

FROM the demanding corridors of California hospitals to international stages shaping global leaders, Dang de Sahagun-Bernardez has transformed a career in healthcare into a global mission centered on purposeful communication.
A registered nurse turned communication mentor, she is the founder of Powertalk — a leadership development platform that equips professionals to speak with clarity, confidence, and conviction.

A cum laude graduate of the University Of The Philippines and a certified IELTS coach with a perfect Band 9 score, Bernardez brings more than 17 years of mentoring experience across Asia, the United States, and Europe.

She has trained students, executives, influencers, and pageant contenders to strengthen their presence on international platforms.
Among her notable roles, she served as Head Judge of Miss World 2022, further underscoring her expertise in leadership, poise, and communication excellence.

Today, Bernardez continues her work in global education as Head of Business Development for SRK Education Group International and Head of Woodlands International Homeschool.

In these roles, she helps develop learners into globally competitive communicators prepared for leadership in diverse industries.

Beyond the classroom and training halls, she also serves as a model and ambassador for Prestiz TV & Appliances, expanding her advocacy for confidence-driven communication into media and branding.

Bernardez now brings her philosophy to print with the release of her book, “Speak To Lead.”

The book offers a practical and faith-anchored framework for leaders, emerging professionals, and individuals seeking to steward influence responsibly.

“‘Speak To Lead’ is written for leaders and aspiring professionals who understand that influence carries responsibility,” say Bernardez.
“It provides a field-tested blueprint for communication that inspires action and builds trust. More importantly, it reflects my belief that leadership begins not just with skill, but with surrender — and that excellence in our work honors the God who equips us.”

Drawing from nearly two decades of professional mentoring and personal growth, Bernardez shares lessons shaped by seasons of resilience, faith, and leadership development.

“My hope is to challenge readers to shape their words with wisdom, align their influence with their calling, and steward every platform with conviction and grace,” she adds.

At its core, “Speak To Lead” emphasizes that influence is not determined by title alone.

“Voice, presence, and character shape leadership far more than position. Leadership is both a skill and a stewardship — and when we speak with purpose, people follow.”

With the release of “Speak To Lead,” Bernardez continues her mission to empower individuals across classrooms, corporate spaces, and global stages — proving that communication is more than articulation; it is identity, direction, and calling spoken with purpose.
