Actress and now entrepreneur, Jenny Miller, has launched her skin brand “Recherche” – a French word meaning rare, exotic, or obscure. The initial products launched were whitening soap bar, sun block, face cream moisturizer, toner and serum.

“In-offer ‘to sa akin years ago by our chairman, my friend Paul Zobel. At first, of course, sobrang ‘wait lang ha? Give me time’ sabi ko sa kanya. Kasi mas focused ako sa acting tsaka sabi ko, hindi ko alam kasi for like more than twenty years, TV lang ang buhay ko, wala akong alam sa corporate world. Pero sabi niya, ‘don’t worry, I’ll guide you. I’ll give ‘yung team na makakatulong sa’yo.’ For months, inisip ko siya until sinabi ko na I’m ready,” shares Recherche’s CEO Jenny Miller.
Why is it called Recherche?
“Yung product na hindi nag-click before, Recherche na ‘yun. Sabi niya (Paul), ‘gusto ko talaga ‘yung name.’ Actually, maraming kumontra, ang hirap ng recall, ang hirap i-pronounce, kahit ako noon. Sabi niya hindi, French ‘yan, gusto niya kasi luxurious pakinggan. Sabi ko, ‘ah okay.’ Siyempre premium brands tayo na local,” Jenny explains.
Jenny is still active in showbiz. She’s part of the recently released film Mudrasta with Roderick Paulate. So, how does she balances her career as a CEO and as an actress?
“With my contract with them, sabi ko, passion ko ang acting. Parang hindi ko kaya iwan. Sabi nila, ‘hindi. Sinong may sabing ititigil mo ang acting? Excused ka when you have tapings, when you have engagements pagdating sa showbiz. Kasi we still need you visible pa din.’ So, naba-balance ko siya kasi ang ganda ng deal namin kasi I can still do acting and eto, kapag walang projects, alam naman natin hindi regular ang mga projects. So, kapag wala, focused ako dito,” Jenny answers.
