Kawit, Cavite’s modern Christmas Lighting fuses history with modern technology

Kawit, Cavite – A harmonious blend of history and modernity unfolds as the Aguinaldo Shrine and Freedom Park illuminate with modern Christmas lighting technology.

The Kawit Local Government Unit (LGU) inaugurated the festively lit shrine and park on November 18, 2023, during a ceremony-cum-concert.

On the opening day, the melodic voices of Gessie K., Nef Medina, and Agsunta filled the air, serenading both Kawiteños and visitors from nearby cities who marveled at the Christmas decorations arranged by the local government.

And yearly, meron kaming aguinaldo.

The Kawit LGU additionally adorned the surroundings with light decorations resembling fireworks, emitting various lights at different tempos.

In a first-time initiative, the LGU introduced a light tunnel in front of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo’s monument, capturing the attention of selfie enthusiasts.

The illuminated Santa Claus and butterfly garden proved to be a delightful attraction for both children and the young at heart.

They are also excited to announce their very famous Maytinis Festival that will be held this December after it was postponed because of the pandemic. Maytinis Festival conveys the different chapters of the bible by a parade of floats.

“Tuloy na tuloy na po siya dahil po napagtagumpayan po ng Kawit, sa sama sama po naming #KawitFightsCOVID19 napagtagumpayan po ng Kawit ang pandemya and safe na po ngayon ipagpatuloy ang Maytinis.” said the PIO Lead Head of Kawit, Cavite

Mayor Angelo Emilio Aguinaldo conveyed the LGU’s commitment to creating lasting memories for Kawiteños and Filipinos seeking a new and enchanting holiday destination.

From the great leadership of his father, former Mayor Tik Aguinaldo, he strived his best to continue their great service and unconditional support for the Kawiteños. To be followed by her mother Konsehala Amie Aguinaldo as she plans to continue their legacy after his son’s last term.

Starting on December 1, visitors can revel in the nighttime Christmas lights spectacle from 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM, catering to both Las Tiendas customers and devout Christians participating in the traditional Simbang Gabi.
