Newly signed GMA Artist Center talent Khalil Ramos is excited to act again and to do content for the Kapuso Network. When asked about his transfer, he answered that it was being negotiated before the ABS-CBN shutdown and the quarantine was in effect.
“Things actually started early this year. They got in touch with me, it was a simple inquiry pa lang. They were asking me if I have interest in transferring to Artist Center, and they were asking if I would like to set up a meeting. This was January, February, pero that time I was quite busy, I had a lot on my plate so, sabi ko maybe in the future I’ll let you guys know. I would have to spend some time pondering and thinking about it first ‘coz it’s a big decision if ever. ‘Yun lang, pagdating ng March, naabutan ng lockdown. So, I communicated it to them na I want to sit down with them to meet, because sakto ‘yung panahon ‘nung end of Feb to March na expired na din ako sa previous management ko. So, I have an option of moving. Initially I just really wanted to weigh my options. Gusto kong makita what’s in store for me sa GMA, if I should make this big career decision, and life decision,” Khalil shares.
“Na-delay. Then, we started meeting again, I think around June or July. So medyo matagal na ‘yung delay. I had a lot of time to think about it during the pandemic. While I, of course supporting my colleagues, lahat ng mga nakasama ko sa previous network ko. I supported them throughout all the months of crisis with the group. Todo support ako sa kanila while thinking about my career as well, in the future. Then dumating sa July, August months na, I met with them, for the first time, si GMA Artist Center. Then, dun na. Eventually, dun na natuloy,” Khalil continues.
When asked about the planned projects for him, “ang nakalatag pa lang so far, is appearances on AOS (All-Out Sundays) and hopefully, sana matuloy, an episode sa Magpakailanman.”
Actor and musician
On acting: “As an actor, sabi ko, acting is my main passion right now, as of the moment. I wanna focus on acting. Ang dami kong gustong matutunan pa bilang aktor. I love doing the art, I love the craft mismo of acting. So that’s what I want to keep doing for years and years to come and they knew that automatically, and they knew kasi mga nagawa ko na in the past. Moving forward, of course you’ll see me in teleseryes of GMA for sure. I would love to work on one with Gabbi if given the chance. Hopefully, mabigyan ng chance pero I’m very open to collaborating with the talented actors of GMA on a teleserye or a film.”
On music: “Wala pang solid plans as of the moment besides All-Out Sundays. All Out Sundays I could showcase my singing naman there.”
Collaborate with a Kapuso Artist
When asked which Kapuso artist he wants to collaborate for a content, Khalil seem to be excited about one person (other than Gabbi, of course):
“Ako honestly, I grew up watching his comedy skits and shows. So it would be a dream come true kung makatrabaho ko bilang writer or director, or bilang parte ng production si sir Michael V, si Bitoy. Nung high school ako, ‘yung mga parody videos niya tsaka mga comedy skits niya, ‘yung ‘yung mga pinapanood namin barkada, ginagaya namin sa school. So sobrang idol talaga si sir Bitoy.”
