It’s not usual for a group to have a solo music per member before they get to be launched together. VVINK, pronounced as WINK, is officially launched as FlipMusic’s Ppop group. The group is composed of Angelika, Jean, Ayaka, Odri and Mariel. Along with their official launch as a group, VVINK performed their debut single ‘Tulala.’ Watch their performance below:
How did they discover that they’re part of FlipMusic’s girl group VVINK?
“Nag-message si sir Jumbo if I’m open sa girl group since siya din ang nagsulat ng song namin from my past girl group,” answers VVINK Angelika.
“Before I was a pre-med student nung mga time na ‘yun and med tech student din ako and kakatapos lang ng mga TV shows na mga nasalihan ko kaya naisip ko na aral na muna ako. Then, naka-receive ako ng super random na text message from FlipMusic and sabi ko totoo na ba ‘to? Dream ko talaga magPPop ever since kasi gusto ko din talaga magperform, not only singing but also dancing,” VVINK Jean shares.
“Since magkasama kami ni ate Jean dati sa mga auditions, I got to know FlipMusic through her. Nung nasa Japan ako, I had an interview with FlipMusic. Fortunately, na-hand pick ako and sabi ko, thank you Lord, ito na siguro ‘to,” says VVINK Ayaka.
“I used to be a working student and I work sa production and nagda-dance ako. And as I have mentioned earlier, I’m a professional dancer and nagko-choreo ako sa kanila before I was handpicked. Nag-record kami ng isang song with sir Jumbo and I was handpicked to be a VVINK and grinab ko na siya kasi super dream naming lahat ‘to. I almost give up pero second chance talaga,” shares VVINK Odri.
“During that time, nasa dance competitions ako and puro ako training sa sayaw kasi parang nawala ‘yung fire ko sa singing. And when natanggap ko ‘yung message, gusto nila ako i-sign as an artist, parang dun bumalik ‘yung fire ko. Parang nag-reignite ‘yung spark ko,” VVINK Mariel answers.

How was the experience as a soloist and as a group?
“As soloist, parang need ko ng kasama. As a soloist na–enjoy ko siya pero at the same time, I think ‘yung girl group is such a good idea kasi before pa kami maging soloist, alam na namin magiging girl group kami. Super excited kami nun and matagal din namin sinikreto eto, nagtatago kami na soloist kami pero girl group talaga,” VVINK Jean shares.
“VVINK: The Pre-Debut Album” introduced each member through two solo tracks each, a bold move that let fans hear their individual voices first. It laid the foundation for their group debut with heart, honesty and style.
VVINK isn’t confined to one concept. They’re soft and strong, playful and powerful – a group of individuals with one goal: to connect through music.
