“Today we proudly launch National University’s fourteenth campus, the sixth campus in the National Capital Region. We just recently launched our Campus in Cebu which is opening in the same year as National University campus Las Piñas. So why did we decide to bring NU’s brand of education in Las Pinas? I am a witness to this seventeen years ago when National University was acquired by the SM family, by the Sy family. In the year 2008, we would market to attract Las Pinas students to our campus in Manila. In that time, we did think of the possibility na ‘ang sarap magka-campus dito parang Las Pinas is a good place to have NU.’ And finally, after seventeen years, we’re about to lauch our school,” shares National University Philippines President and CEO Dr. Renato Carlos H. Ermita, Jr. as he opens the program at the launch of National University Las Piñas.

The event was titled “Come Home to NU Las Piñas a milestone event that takes inspiration from the Salubong traditions celebrated by other National University campuses. With a unique theme that embraces the identity, warmth, and vibrant culture of Las Piñas, Come Home to NU Las Piñas marks the official welcome to the newest NU campus in the South of Metro Manila.

The launching of NU Las Piñas was well-attended by members of the National University faculty and the local government.
