“Innovison is the first flagship conference of Philippine Coding Camp (PCC). (PCC) is our humble startup. We started during the COVID-19 pandemic and it’s our fifth year. We’re launching Innovision on our fifth anniversary. Basically, in the Philippine Coding Camp, we started with kids training and we slowly grew the brand to upscaling in the Philippines. We’ve been partnering with different organizations, we’ve done trainings with companies like Toyota Motors Philippines, Japan Tobacco International, JTI Philippines and the likes. We are also beefing up our micro credential initiatives with different universities such as the De La Salle University and Lyceum University of the Philippines,” PCC CEO and founder Gabriel Sampedro opens the press conference.

“Innovision is our platform of bringing together different experts from different countries. We’ve flown experts from Taiwan like Professor Arun, we’ve flown Professor Adi from Primakara University (Indonesia), and even our government partners. We have with us Undersecretary Leah Buendia of DOST, we have Engr. Roel de la Cruz of the Philippine Space Agency, as well as Sir Tirso Gutierrez from DICT. We’re bringing together different experts in helping out efforts in upscaling the Philippines. Aside from that, the event we have today is not just a whole thing; it’s a launch of a series of hackathons and workshops that we’re going to launch throughout the year. We’re going to do it in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and again, in Metro Manila,” Gabriel continues.
Who’s the target market and what are the sample classes or workshops that Innovision offers?
“The target market of Innovision, we’re targeting the changemakers of society, we’re targeting future leaders, future tech leaders. In our conference, we’ve gathered young professionals and even graduating students from different universities. We plan to make it inclusive, not just focused on Metro Manila, as we planned to go to nationwide,” Sampedro shares.
“Our target audience is not just IT professionals, as we believe that innovation can happen even if you’re not from that background. One of the incubators that we’ve joined recently only accepts idea-based startups which is shocking and amazing for us. As idea-based startups, meaning they haven’t done anything yet. As long as you have a great idea, you can come join the event. It was kind of an eye opener for us that you don’t need to have a tech background, you just need to be exposed, you just need to explore the different possibilities, because at the end of the day, it’s a collaborative effort. You just need a team, you just need the right people. So, if you’re not an IT expert, if you have an idea, you can look for like-minded people and come up with that great idea yourself,” Sampedro continues.
“Innovision is a series that’s focused on emerging technologies that include AI and automation, blockchain & Web3, cloud computing, IoT and smart environments, space and satellite technology and generative AI,” Sampedro adds.
The kick-off event happened last May 30 to 31 at Verdure, Henry Sy Sr. Hall, De La Salle University, Manila. Around 500 onsite and virtual participants were present. Innovision 2025 plans to have succeeding legs at Metro Manila and Luzon in August, Visayas in September, Mindanao in October and the culminating event will happen in November in Metro Manila.
