Artist Circle introduces to the media one of their newest artists, Jess Martinez. While Jess may not be new to the showbiz industry, having done a handful of TV and movie projects, she shared some insights about her personal and professional life, as well as what she’s looking forward to in the industry.

“Before entering showbiz, I am a social media influencer, more into fashion and lifestyle. My main platform is TikTok and through my videos, I get to express who I really am, how I dress up and a glimpse of my family is,” Jess shares.

“Right now, I’m juggling showbiz and school. I’m currently studying at Southville International School and right now, I’m taking Business Management,” Jess on her educational background.

When asked why she chose to be an artist than continue to be an influencer like what most kids want now, Jess answers, “kasi I’m not for fame. ‘Yung gusto ko sa showbiz, I get to express my emotions. ‘Yung acting ang gusto kong gawin, naipapakita ko ‘yung iba’t ibang personality ko and at the same time, mas napu-push ako. Kasi when it comes to being an influencer, it’s routine based. Parang ito nang ito ang ginagawa ko unlike being in showbiz, iba’t ibang characters siya, so mas nahahasa ako as a person.”

Was there a specific childhood memory that made her want to enter showbiz?

“Wala pong nasa (showbiz) industry sa family ko, they’re all in the business side. It was really my decision to enter showbiz pero even before, nanonood kami ng mga teleseryes like MariMar and other shows on GMA and ABS-CBN. So dahil dun, sabi ko, I want to become a star one day, I want to be seen on television and to express my emotions and craft.”

Does that mean she idolizes Marian Rivera, who starred in MariMar?

“I really look up to Ms. Marian kasi she’s a great actress and along with her, I really love Ms. Heart Evangelista because how she dresses herself and present herself.”

Why she joined Artist Circle?

“Yung napa-feel kasi sa akin ng Artist Circle is family. They accepted me for who I am, a social media influencer, and the Jess Martinez as a person. I’m so happy and grateful kasi mas nagiging better ako as a person and not just an actress.”

Jess is part of GMA Prime’s ‘Sanggang Dikit FR’ starring Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado. But prior to that, she has done several projects.

“I started last year (2024). I signed with Artist Circle last February 6 but I started taping on June 6 which was ‘Abot Kamay na Pangarap,’ four months ako dun. And while doing that, I also did Regal Studios Presents, and then after that, I did a guesting in Pepito Manaloto. This (Sanggang Dikit) is going to be my fourth acting gig.”

So far, what was her most memorable project?

“Yung pinakamemorable talaga is ‘yung ‘Abot Kamay na Pangarap’ kasi four months ako dun, stronger ang foundation na na-build ko dun. ‘Yung pinakamemorable sa akin would be whenever I have scenes with Ms. Wilma (Doesnt) kasi siya ang ka-scene ko most of the time kasi she’s playing my tita. And whenever nagkakamali ako, she would tell me kung saan ako nagkakamali. And may times na ngumunguso ako whenever I’m kabado, sinasabihan niya ako na ngumunguso ako at pangit tignan sa screen. She would really help me out.”
