Metro Manila, Philippines – Vaneza Soriano, once a full-time housewife focused solely on her family, found a new path when she discovered how beauty could change her life. Now, she’s a proud graduate of L’Oréal Philippines’ Beauty for a Better Life (BFBL) professional hairdressing program—an inspiring example that with determination, support, and the right training, fresh starts are always within reach.

Vaneza’s journey reflects the experiences of many women whose lives have been transformed by the program. Since its inception in 2017, the Beauty for a Better Life (BFBL) initiative has empowered more than 524 Filipino women through professional hairdressing training, offering not only education but also a path to sustainable livelihood and a brighter future for themselves and their families. This year, the program reached a new milestone by expanding to Mandaluyong City, marking the first-ever partnership between the city and L’Oréal for this impactful endeavor.

The latest batch of 47 was honored in a graduation ceremony held at the Mandaluyong City Hall, culminating their 2-month hands-on training and internship in L’Oreal’s salons in Metro Manila. More than just the culmination of training, the event served as a powerful reminder that beauty can be a bridge to empowerment, hope, and personal transformation.

Through Beauty for a Better Life, we equip women with the skills to build sustainable careers in hairdressing, fostering personal empowerment and economic integration. Today’s graduates are living proof of this mission, and their success is our success. For Vaneza and many others, the training went beyond teaching hairdressing techniques—it rebuilt their confidence and reignited their dreams. “Before this program, I thought my role as a homemaker meant putting my dreams on hold,” she shared. “But through BFBL, I learned that my passion could become my profession. I now have the courage and skills to create a better life for myself and my family.”  

The BFBL program empowers driven and aspiring women from all walks of life by providing professional beauty training, financial literacy, and personal development support. Through this initiative, L’Oréal strengthens its global commitment to promoting inclusivity and uplifting communities, positively impacting the lives of thousands of women in over 30 countries.
