CALISTA now a four-member PPop group, moves forward with new music

It hasn’t been easy for P-Pop group Calista in the last couple of months. After losing one to two members who decided to create their own paths in their respective industries, Laiza focused on her studies while Olive May was recruited by GMA Sparkle to be their artist.

Now with four members left, Anne, Dain, Denise, and Elle are ready to show their full potential as performers with their new extended play (EP) – FOUR – Finding Our Unique Rythm. Four is more than just a playlist, it will take fans and casual listeners on the journey of Calista as they present through music their unique personalities and how they blend as a team.

How do they feel about continuing with Calista minus Laiza and Olive May?

“Unang panood ko ng video nung pinapakita from anim na naging four, talagang bumuhos ‘yung luha ko. Hindi ko napigilan kasi parang dun ko nasundan ‘yung journey namin. Ngayon, talagang apat na lang kami. Sad siya pakinggan na nabawasan kami, it’s also a blessing para sa amin kasi I have these three members with me and hindi siya naging madali na journey but it’s a fulfilling journey for us kasi nakaya namin siya, nakaya namin lahat ng challenges. Sobrang laking blessing na malalakas ‘yung members ko kasi ako, pinanghihinaan ako ng loob pero nakikita ko silang positive, malakas. Parang hinihila nila ’yung energy ko. Masaya dahil may panibagong EP, dati naghahantay lang kami pero ngayon, biniyayaan kami ng hindi lang isang kanta kundi isang buong EP. It’s a brand new opportunity for us, so we’re very thankful to the management for this opportunity and to God for giving us the talent,” shares Calista Anne.

NEW EP – FOUR

  1. The main track ‘Alas Dose,’ is an afrobeat-inspired pop anthem that showcases the group’s vocal power and colorful enthusiasm.
  2. ‘LMK (Let Me Know)’ is an R&B song that allows Calista to express deep feelings through their music.
  3. ‘Bongga Ka Day’ – an iconic OPM hit originally by The Hotdog, is not just a remake but a tribute to timeless Filipino songs, demonstrating the group’s pride in their heritage.
  4. ‘Oops My Bad’ is a cheeky and playful track that highlights CALISTA’s charm and confidence, bringing a fun and lively energy to the EP.
  5. But there is a fifth track, the hidden track, ‘Wag Na,’ Calista’s first try in the ballad genre to prove their versatility in any kind of genre.

CALISTA stands for “Call It A Star,” and with their resilience and perseverance amid challenges, it can only be expected that the group’s star is going to shine brighter as they continue to rise. With their unwavering passion for their craft, they will soon become stars of the show.
