The Pambansang Samahan ng Inhenyero Mekanikal Manila Chapter last November 22, 2024 held the annual Global Future Summit – Silkroad 4.0 for the first time in Manila, Philippines. Check out some photos below:

“This is a general membership meeting. We have an annual gathering for our members. This is the time that all members of our chapter for this general membership meeting. Dito namin ginaganap ang aming voting for the officers for next year because this is the only time that we gather the majority of our members,” PSIM Manila President Jerome Lisay shares.

“Our collaboration with our global partner which is the Global Future Summit – Silkroad 4.0, this event is a gathering of leaders not only in the industry but the leaders from different businesses, leaders of professional organizations. The purpose of this event is to gather all international leaders in the professional or business industry to collaborate with each other to foster growth not only local but also international. Meaning, if you have a business idea or business proposal and you need some resources abroad, this is the venue for your success. This event involves 22 countries including the Philippines. Countries from Europe especially Austria which is the founder of this event, Philippines, Spain, and other countries all over the globe,” Mr. Lisay continues.

From engineering to movie production

Aside from being the President of PSIM Manila, Jerome Lisay is also the head of film production company JPhlix Films which produced ‘Balinsasayaw’ which premiered in the streaming platform Vivamax earlier this year and ‘Pasahero,’ one of the entries of Sine Sindak Film Festival Year 5.

“We started with a little bit of passion for filming, video editing, etc. and then I met director Jonathan Orano through another organization. And then I heard that he is a director from VIVA Films. Under his leadership are new aspiring actresses he trains. And from a small talk, we discussed on making a short film. We did a short film hanggang sa nakilala ko si boss Vic del Rosario dahil nag-produce ako ng isang pelikula sa Vivamax ‘yung ‘Balinsasayaw.’ That was the first film I produced with VIVA and then, nakilala ako ni boss Vic dahil dun. Hanggnag sa nagsabi ako ng intent to produce bigger films. Then, ‘yun nga, pinitch niya sa akin dalawang pelikula including Pasahero. Nagustuhan ko naman siya and luckily nakasama sa Sine Sindak kaya marami nanood.”
