“Ako si Diwata. Diwata is from the province and pamangkin siya ni Wilma Doesnt (who plays Josa),” shares newest actress to join the top-rating afternoon series ‘Abot Kamay Na Pangarap’ Jess Martinez.
Jess is a talent of Artists Circle Talent Management managed by Rams David. She is the niece of Medicare Plus Ortigas’ Incorporator and Chief People Officer Sean Rodriguez.
How was she discovered by her manager Rams?
“Thru Mommy Shyr (Valdez). And then tinawagan ni Mommy Shyr si Tito Rams, which is Mommy Shyr’s manager, too,” shares Jess.
Rams Davis is one of the endorsers of Medicare Plus while Shyr Valdez is one of the brand ambassadors and part of the creatives and PR of the health company.
Going back to Abot Kamay na Pangarap, Jess shares her experience working on the hit afternoon series, ” It’s fun. At saka very organized and schedule niya so hindi mahirap mag-adjust for me kasi parang from influencer to showbiz, medyo mahirap siya somehow kasi magkaiba ‘yung work load tsaka ‘yung work flow, ‘yung number of hours ng work.”
What kind of content is she doing?
“It’s more on lifestyle, fashion, beauty, actually all genre naman. I started way back 2021, February. Pandemic, kasi parang andaming time nung pandemic so nag-try ako to be an influencer and then pumatok naman siya so I continued,” Jess shares.
“Pero to be honest, mas gusto ko ‘yung showbiz life because I get to express myself thru characters I’m portraying,” shares Jess on doing showbiz and being an influencer.
Is there pressure joining one of the most-watched series on TV right now?
“No naman kasi I love what I’m doing so hindi siya pressure for me. Actually I’m very honored nga to be part of the show kasi yung mga artista na nandun very bigatin. So to be able to be there parang it’s a huge thing for me,” answers Jess.
“She’s kind, she’s very much playful,” shares Jess on working with Abot Kamay na Pangarap lead star Jillian Ward. “Tapos we get to talk pero not so much pa kasi konti pa lang yung scenes ko with her. But yung presence niya, she’s kind and yung joy nakikita sa presence niya,” she continues.
Jess is also now the face of Skinlandia, the newly opened beauty and wellness clinic in SM City Fairview owned by Noreen and Juncytnth Divina of Nailandia Nail Studio and Body Spa.
Marian Rivera is the only endorser of Nailandia, what does she feel that she’s the only endorser of their sister company Skinlandia?
“Well hindi naman siya nakaka-pressure for me pero grabe, I was like super-happy na grabe ang tiwala sa akin ng Skinlandia family kasi andaming ibang artists and then established na yung Nailandia so madali na lang ipaingay yung Skinlandia. So they have a lot of options pero ako yung pinili so grabe. More on grateful than pressured,” Jess shares.
