One of the owners of RAMPA, RS Francisco on how the drag club has changed since it opened:
“It has changed dramatically from the first opening night nung January 17 and then February 10 ang grand opening. Now, nag-conceptualize tayo ng every Wednesday, meron tayong Spank Wednesdays, every Thursday we have Bear Nights, Lesbian Nights, Twink Nights, basta iba-ibang parties, for Fridays it’s Watermelon Friday kung saan nagwawala ang mga tao dito, nag-iinuman hanggang 5 in the morning, Saturday also is a party night and Sunday, ilo-launch na namin ang Ilusyon – an open drag festival. Kahit sinong gustong mag-perform, pwede. Kasi napansin namin ‘yung ibang clients namin dito naka-drag and gusto nilang sumampa. So bibigyan namin sila ng platform kung saan sila pwede mag-express ng artistry nila, kung saan sila pwedeng mag-enjoy na hindi sila ija-judge. Rampa is a safe space for everyone and we embrace and welcome everybody – babae, lalake, trans, l, g, b, t, lahat ng alphabet, kahit anong body shape, kahit anong kulay, kahit anong expression mo. Ganyan ang ginagawa namin dito sa Rampa, we make you feel welcome because we are one big family.”
Divine Divas’ Brigiding adds, “Very happy kasi pinaka-importanteng nangyari is bukod sa buhay namin, we changed the lives of these young queens na nandito sa harapan ninyo. Meron kami ngayong almost 15 artist na hino-hone namin to be the best version of their artistry. So bukod sa nagbago ang buhay namin, meron din kaming iba pang binabagong buhay.”
There’s no excuse for anyone not to go to Rampa because they offer all types of entertainment. But one thing’s for sure, Rampa won’t give its audience something ordinary because the talents they have go beyond the usual.
Also, RS Francisco shares that RAMPA, which is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, is open to be a venue for events, conferences and event parties.
