Dr. CARL BALITA, educator, entrepreneur, and producer, is bringing DAVID POMERANZ to the Philippines. David returns to the country he considers his second home to do a series of shows in celebration of the 40th year since he first went to the Philippines. In partnership with Dr. Carl Balita Productions (CBP) and the Dr. Carl E. Balita Review Center (CBRC), David will tour Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao to serenade the Filipinos with his beloved songs such as “Got to Believe in Magic,” “King and Queen of Hearts,” “If You Walked Away,” “Born for You,” among many other hits.

Dubbed as the “Father of Philippine Review,” Dr. Carl Balita leads the leading and dominating review center in the country, the Dr. Carl E. Balita Review Center, the first ISO 9001:2015-certified business of its kind. But even before becoming one of the esteemed educators in the academe, he has been passionate about the arts and a staunch supporter of the showbiz industry. He produces records, concerts, and films. He was one of the pioneering producers in the “Tulong Taal” concert in 2020 along with Isay Alvarez, Robert Seña, and Vehnee Saturno for the rehabilitation of the communities in Taal who were affected by the volcano eruption. He also established the CBRC Dream Theater in 2018, a microcinema that screens local films only.
Through the Dr. Carl Balita Productions, Dr. Carl Balita has produced films that are dedicated to the life and passion of the professionals such as Nars (2007), Maestra (2017), Rebyu (2017), A Father’s Love (2021), and recently, Siglo ng Kalinga (2023) which highlighted the heroism of the nursing profession. In 2020 the first Video Home Festival (VHF) was launched during the peak of pandemic to support the filmmakers during lockdown. With that, it is only fitting that he’d be regarded as the “Father of Advocacy Films.”
A man whose voice not just educates and motivates, Dr. Carl Balita also sings to bring inspiration to his audience in achieving their dreams. He was once part of the band “Retromaniacs” and has released several songs under his name. Among such songs are “One in You,” “Isang Lahi,” “Maghintay Ka Lamang,” all of which were Vehnee Saturno’s compositions.
This year Dr. Carl Balita ventures into producing concerts that will bring delight to the Filipino audiences. The first of which is David Pomeranz’ “Coming Home Tour” which will showcase David’s musical brilliance through a series of shows. As a fan, Dr. Carl Balita grew up listening and singing David’s songs.
Filling up the big venues in different cities in the Philippines during his lectures, Dr. Carl Balita will bring David’s tour in the different provinces through CBRC which has almost 200 branches in the country. The tour kickoffs in Zamboanga at the KCC Convention Center on December 3; Cagayan de Oro at the Limketkai Mall on December 4; Pangasinan at the Panpacific University Events Center on December 5; Bicol at the Albay Astrodome on December 10; Calapan, Mindoro at the Calapan City Convention Center on December 12; Maguindanao del Sur at the Mango Grove at the South on December 13; Samar at the Calbayog City Sports Center on December 17; and Iloilo at the Iloilo Convention Center on December 19.

He has written and recorded hit songs not just for himself but his fellow artists like Barry Manilow (“The Old Songs,” “Tryin’ to Get the Feeling Again”) among others. A fan of the Filipino talent, he did a duet of “If You Walked Away” with Sharon Cuneta, the Philippines’ Megastar, and has recorded sentimental favorites such as Gary Valenciano’s “Pasko Na Sinta Ko” and Louie Ocampo’s “Tell Me.”
“I’m really excited about coming to tour the Philippines this December to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the first time I ever played there in 1983,” David says in his official Facebook page. “This is an especially meaningful event for me because it also marks the beginning of a relationship with these wonderful people which serves as an unendingly blessed source of joy for me and my family to this day,” he added. Further, this tour is his thank you gift for all the Filipinos who has supported him throughout the years.
