“Ang sarap ngumuya ng mukha. Manggagamit ng mukha, manggagamit ng account ng may account, manggagamit ng number nang may number!”
Actress and social media personality Kiracy Celis has resurfaced via her social media accounts, warning her followers about identity hacking and the importance of SIM registration. Watch her video below:
Upon experiencing identity hacking, she learned how important SIM registration is, “Number Mo, Identity Mo. Mag-SIM REG na bago magamit ng iba.”
She also warns those who are reluctant in registering their SIM cards and thinks that they can easily change their numbers if it was stolen. Your number is connected to your digital and real identity like bank accounts, credit cards, mobile wallets, social media accounts and government records. Registering your SIM will make it safer for you and for those you love. In fact, phone scams have drastically lessened since the SIM REGi or SIM registration started.
And with this, the efforts of Globe together with Celis is commendable for informing the public of the dangers of not registering their SIM cards in a very “Kiray Celis” way, drawing people to be curious of how these scenarios can be if it happened to anybody, which is possible.
Don’t forget to register your SIM card number. Deadline for SIM REGi is until July 25, 2023. For Globe users, you can register your SIM card numbers at new.globe.com.ph/simreg to protect your identity.
